OUR FAVOURITE COUNTRY INSTAGRAMMERS
Welcome to the newest section of Lily Magazine: ‘Our Favourite Country Instagrammers’! Curated by Claire Bradshaw, a writer, Instagram addict and lover of the countryside, it’s a sister-column to our ‘Favourite Country Bloggers’ feature. Each month, we’ll be showcasing an especially lovely Instagram account that’s full of gorgeous countryside snapshots and scenes.
Whether you dream of perfect pastoral views and early, foggy mornings; of rustic kitchens and crackling fireplaces; or merely of a life based on simplicity and the comforts of home, you’ll find something to suit you here. Instagram is a wonderful source of visual inspiration and escapism, and the accounts we’ll be featuring promise to transport you to some of the most beautiful countryside Australia and the world has to offer. But beware – the photos you see may induce a serious case of tree-change fever!
Sharon Santoni @sharonsantoni
Here’s one for the Francophiles! Sharon Santoni, blogger at My French Country Home, has a passion for the country way of life – keeping things simple and seeing beauty in the everyday. Living in a beautiful country home in the heart of the French countryside, Sharon gives us an inside look at this way of life through her stunning Instagram account.
As well as featuring her home’s flowering façade and sprawling garden, Sharon showcases various elements of the Normandy countryside she calls home. Fresh blooms in a thousand gorgeous shades, visits to brocantes and country antique fairs (oh, the spoils!), stylish French interiors… It’s enough to make us want to take an extended (or permanent) vacation in northern France!

Marte Marie Forsberg @marte_marie_forsberg
Now, I don’t want to make any grand proclamations, but I think this might just be the most idyllic Instagram feed I’ve ever seen! It’s full of everything I personally love as a countryside dreamer (and everything I’m sure Lily readers love too): cosy cottage interiors, pastoral English landscapes, and plenty of cooking and baking with delicious fresh produce.
A successful food and lifestyle photographer, Marie grew up in the Norwegian countryside but now calls England home, living in a quaint Dorset cottage with her gorgeous dog, Mr Whiskey. Her photos capture a peaceful, creative country life, with thoughtfully expressed captions paying homage to the beauty of everyday moments.
Marie also runs food photography classes and lifestyle retreats, and her blog, My Cottage Kitchen, is full of recipes, stories and more lovely photos. You can find more info about Marie and her projects here: www.mmforsberg.com.
